The course contains recordings of a 12-week class delivered virtually by Jeffrey Sachs to students from Columbia SIPA, University College Dublin, and Sunway University during the September 2020 semester. 

The videos series offers a comprehensive analysis of the global Covid-19 pandemic from its beginning to September 2020. It considered the pandemic from multiple perspectives, including: the historical role of epidemics in human history; the basic epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2; the basic virology of SARS-Cov-2; the nature and causes of zoonotic diseases; the efficacy of Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) to control the pandemic; a comparative analysis of control measures in different countries; the economic and humanitarian consequences of the pandemic and ways to meliorate the crisis; the economics of vaccine development; and the role of international cooperation and global health institutions.
