SDG Finance Academy e-Learning Programme

UNDP sustainable finance experts collaborated to design these easy-to navigate course modules in areas such as budgeting for the SDGs, insurance and risk finance, impact management and more. After completing the module ‘Introduction to Sustainable Finance and the Academy’, learners can dive into nine other e-learning modules covering all four of UNDP’s other Sustainable Finance Service Offers

Public Finance for the SDGs
Unlocking Private Capital and Aligning Business Operations for the SDGs
SDG Impact Management and Finance Tracking
Integrated National Financing Frameworks and Country Portfolios

These self-paced e-learning modules build skills across the many domains of sustainable finance, enabling learners to understand core concepts in sustainable finance and the tools and strategies for utilizing sustainable finance to deliver the SDGs.

The interactive online format enables learners to complete the modules at their own pace and establishes a global community of practice in sustainable finance. More than just a training ground, the SDG Finance Academy is a collaborative space that brings diverse development actors together to share knowledge and build partnerships.

The modules are currently available in English. Forthcoming in Arabic, Spanish and French.

Target Audience

UN personnel, governments, civil society and foundations, private-sector partners and development practitioners.

Learning Objectives

Upon the completion of these ten e-learning modules, learners will understand:

Core concepts related to sustainable finance and its potential for financing the achievement of the SDGs;
The work of UNDP and its partners to leverage sustainable finance for its Signature Solutions and USD 1 trillion moonshots to leverage financing for the SDGs;
Key tools and strategies used by UNDP and its partners in leveraging public and private finance;
Experiences gained in using sustainable finance tools and strategies in countries around the world; and
How to establish pipelines for and fund public and private investments in the SDGs.
