Mainstreaming Gender in Voluntary National Reviews

This course is based on the guidelines for Mainstreaming Gender Equality in Voluntary National Reviews,, which was developed by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia in partnership with UN Women and the League of Arab States.

The Handbook provides detailed information on how gender is incorporated into all components of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and guidance on how to integrate gender into the preparation and content of VNRs. This course was developed by ESCWA.

This course is part of a learning path leading to a professional certificate in Gender.

Target Audience

Primary audience: Different groups of stakeholders involved in the 2030 Agenda implementation and follow-up and review. Gender experts mainly those contributing to the implementation of SDG5 and the whole Agenda in the Arab region.
Secondary audience: Students and everyone else who wishes to know more about the gender aspects in the sustainable development agendas.
