The training course on Localizing the SDGs is designed to meet the needs of local governments in developing countries which would like to localize, plan, implement and review the SDGs. The training courses have been conducted by request and self-funded basis. The training course will provide participants with the opportunity to obtain in-depth knowledge and practical skills for localizing SDGs. The programme is also interactive so that they would exchange ideas, know-how and experience on advancing the SDGs at the local and regional level.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the training participants will:

  • Have learned the importance of localizing the SDGs and how to integrate the SDGs into local plans and strategies;
  • Have been familiar with thematic approaches of EST, 3R and DRR;
  • Deepened understanding of the importance of partnership with various stakeholders for promoting the SDGs at local/regional levels and obtained know-how of establishing partnership;
  • Have shared actual experiences and good practices of “SDGs Future Cities” and communities of local implementation of the SDGs in Chubu and Japan.
